We were able to deliver the gift card to Cindy today for the early Bird Incentive. For me, SECC is more than just donating a few dollars from my paycheck to a local charity organization. I truly want to give back to those who have helped me, so each year I choose a recipients that has significantly impacted my life in some way. For example: Read-A-Loud was instrumental in helping my daughter form a love of reading, at a time when reading was a challenge for her. The SmartDrive Foundation provided free online defensive driving to both of my children when they were learning to drive. The American Red Cross assisted my family after a devastating loss. And we adopted a new family member from our local animal shelter. These are just a few examples of the recipients I have chosen, but the list goes on. When you think about it, we rely on non-profit organizations for all kinds of services, whether it be in a time of need or simply in our everyday lives. I hope my story will encourage others to give back to their communities by continuing to participate in the SECC.
It was a tough competition, but Mac has won the Cutest Pet Contest for DHR! Thank you to all that contributed!
Great fun was had by all at DART's painting event! Thanks for supporting the SECC.
DART cooked up some good food last Friday, October 13, at their Chicken BBQ. Participants had choice of chicken, hamburger, or hotdog and sides. Another great way to earn money for those in need!
