DNREC Baked Potato Buffet Bar
DNREC is hosting a Baked Potato Buffet Bar on October 27th with an array of delicious toppings from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Cost is only $4.00 and benefits the SECC. Please join us in the Office of the Secretary Conference Room in the Richardson and Robbins Building, Dover.
DPC Football Jersey Day
DPC Football Jersey Day is Thursday, October 23, 2014. Donate a $2.00 minimum to SECC and receive a wristband to authorize you to wear a Football Jersey on October 23rd only. Please join us in the Springer Lobby for a Pep Rally from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. to show off your jersey and team support. There will be snacks to purchase and fun for all!

Books Are Fun
DNREC is hosting a Book Fair on October 21st from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. This is a great event and the timing is perfect for holiday shopping. 5% of all sales are donated to the SECC campaign.

DelDOT ND Ice Water Challenge
If we earn $250 or more at our Hot Dog Sale on October 17, then watch some North District Managers, Superintendents, and Supervisors get ice water dumped on them!
Best Dressed Bucket and Charity Day
Governor Bacon Health Center is hosting its big SECC event – “BEST DRESSED BUCKET”! This is our version of penny wars. Dress up your Penny Bucket to be judged most unique (while collecting pennies during the duration of the campaign for charity)! On October 15 we will have vendors and charities together for a day of fun, food and giveaways! GET GOING and GIVE GBHC!
DNREC Division of Watershed Stewardship Cookout!
Monday, October 13 at the DNREC Courtyard. BBQ Sandwich or Burger, chips and a drink – $5. Hotdog, chips, and a drink – $3. We’ll also have dessert!
Crazy Hat Day!
Statewide Benefits and the Insurance Coverage Office had a Crazy Hat Day fundraiser on October 7th! We asked for a suggested donation of $1 to participate and $1 to vote for your favorite. Director Brenda Lakeman will wear the winning hat to a leadership meeting if the offices jointly raise $300 (approximately $25 more than last year) over the course of the various SECC fundraising activities in September and October. So far we are two-thirds of the way to our goal!

Department of Safety and Homeland Security
Come have Lunch and Support the 2014 SECC Campaign. The Division of Communications at 3050 Upper King Road, Dover DE 19904 is serving lunch on September 29, 2014, from 12:00 to 1:00. For $5.00 you get a hamburger, soda, chips. If you want a second hamburger only, it is $2.00. We will have beef, veggie, and turkey burgers.
The 2014 SECC Campaign is Officially in Full Swing!
Today many employees came out to learn about our many charities and to hear our speakers share their inspirational stories. We were fortunate to have Governor Markell, Lt. Governor Matt Denn and Ann Visalli on hand to rally employees together to help improve the quality of life for all Delawareans through their donations to the campaign. With everyone’s help, this campaign can change lives! Remember – No gift is too small!

State Employees Making a Difference in Delaware
Thanks to all that contributed to the 2014 Governor’s 5K Run/Walk!
On September 24, the 2014 Governor’s Cup 5K Run/Walk, 1 Mile Fun Walk and Health Fair collected a total of 387 lbs. of donated food from participants for the Food Bank of Delaware, which will provide 322 meals for hungry Delawareans.

On September 11th, at 10:00 at the Springer Gym on Herman Holloway Campus, we will be holding our first SECC New Castle Kickoff. Over 30 charities will be on hand to share their information. All employees are invited to the kickoff. Come out and hear firsthand how your contributions to SECC help others!
